A funeral Mass was offered Feb. 1 at Christ Our Light Church in Londonville for Rev. Alan D. Jupin.

Father Jupin, 81, was born on May 1, 1937 to Alan and Alice Jupin. After attending Watervliet High School, he entered minor seminary at Mater Christi and continued on to Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md.  On May 26, 1962, he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Scully at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He spent most of his priestly ministry in the Capital district area. He was assigned as associate pastor to Saint Thomas (Delmar) in 1962 and Saint John the Baptist (Schenectady) in 1971. 

He became pastor of Saint John the Baptist in 1972; Our Lady of Mercy (Colonie) in 1979; and finally Our Lady of Fatima (Schenectady) in 1989 He retired in 2007. During his time in Colonie, Jupin also served as chaplain to the Colonie Police Department.
