Lynn Mihalek O’Rourke died April 1 at her Delanson home following a long illness. She was 68.

Born on June 13, 1950 in Saratoga Springs, O’Rourke was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian C. (Bishop) Mihalek and was a 1968 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. O’Rourke received her Bachelor’s degree in education from SUNY Albany and a Master’s degree in pastoral studies from St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry in 2005. 

She was Pastoral Associate for Faith Formation at St. Therese Chapel in Gansevoort from 1997 to 2007. O’Rourke served the Diocese as Parish Life Director for the parish of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Delanson from June 2007 until August 2018. Following her retirement and during her illness, she continued to serve by counseling patients through St. Peter’s Hospital Palliative Care.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, J. Robert O’Rourke, whom she married on Aug. 13, 1993; two stepchildren, Matthew R. (Jessica) O’Rourke of North Colonie and Elizabeth (Shane) Taylor of Denver, Pa.; four grandchildren, Leona, Olivia, Issac and Ellis; four brothers, Albert Mihalek, Daniel (Cindy) Mihalek, Alfred (Leslie) Mihalek and Mark Mihalek; two aunts, Dorothy Wilkins and Beulah Gilroy; one uncle, Martin Bishop and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 10 at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church in Saratoga Springs.
