The Evangelist is selling reusable bags to benefit Catholic Charities as part of its year-long “Care for the Earth” campaign. The white bags have the campaign’s slogan on the front with The Evangelist logo, and, on the back, the same slogan with a Laudato Si’ quote from Pope Francis.

These bags, according to the maker, are rugged and “eco-friendly, non-allergenic, non-toxic and water resistant for years of carefree use … (each bag is made out of) premium-grade polypropylene (and) comes with a bottom-layering insert that helps to sturdy the bag for heavy loads, double-layer reinforced handles and an appreciated spacious 10-inch gusset depth.”

Catholic Charities now more than ever is providing necessary foods for thousands during the COVID-19 pandemic. In May alone, they had four food drops planned all around the Diocese of Albany. All of the money raised from the sale of these bags will put food on the table for many.

The bags cost $3 each and The Evangelist is offering contactless drop-off at houses or parishes throughout the Diocese with the order of five or more bags. And remember every single cent will be donated to Catholic Charities. Simply call 518-453-6688 or email mike.matvey@rcda.org for more information.
