Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger presided over the Andrea Lewis Siek Memorial Chapel dedication at Maria College on Saturday, Sept. 7. Lewis Siek graduated from Troy High School in 1966, then attended St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1969. Lewis Siek worked at Samaritan College in Troy for many years, and according to the dedication plaque “this chapel is dedicated in her memory in the hopes that all who stop here may find a place of comfort and spiritual rejuvenation.” The chapel was established by her husband, Richard Siek for his late wife. Siek has previously endowed nursing scholarships at Maria College to carry on his wife’s legacy.
