Catholic Charities Commission on Peace and Justice presented awards to three groups - The Justice Center at Albany Law School, The Legal Project and the New York Immigration Coalition - that assisted immigrants who were housed at the Albany County Jail in 2018.

These groups provided attorneys and translators to more than 300 people who were seeking asylum in America. Most of the people came from Central America, but there were also immigrants from Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and Africa.
