St. Joseph's parish in Worcester will host a NET retreat (www.netusa.org) for youth April 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., called "Anchored in Hope." Suggested donation is $20/student, $30/family. The day will include skits, music, presentations, testimonies and Mass. Call (315) 822-3191....

At St. Adalbert's parish in Schen­ectady, the Altar Rosary Society will host a card party April 30, 1-4 p.m., with food, bingo and prizes. Admission is $4; bingo cards are six for $5....

Girls from Girl Scout Troop No. 1259 at Immaculate Conception parish in Hoosick Falls are working on their Silver Award project, providing a bin for fresh vegetables outside the parish food pantry and asking community members to drop off extra fruits and vegetables from their gardens. They're handing out seedlings after Masses April 29-30....

REV. DAVID LEFORT of St. Mary's parish in Clinton Heights noted that he planned to send Mass intentions to seminarians studying at the North American College in Rome. "Once a student priest myself, I truly appreciated the daily opportunity to serve a person's intentions. It joined me, in a spiritual sense, to the faithful people back home in the USA," he wrote; and "it gave me a better sense of priestly purpose as I was bogged down with studies, research and writing." He invited parishioners to send their intentions and a small financial donation, as well....

St. Paul the Apostle parish in Hancock thanked everyone who contributes to the joint St. Paul/Emory United Methodist Community Fund, which is used for travelers passing through Hancock who need a place to stay, gas or food. "For many, many years, without giving out cash, we have cared for numerous individuals and families who have found themselves in a bind while passing through our neighborhood," the parish noted. "Although we don't ever make appeals for funds for this account, donations are always accepted and are deposited in a special account for only people in this special situation"....

May 5 is the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Knights of Columbus Council at Corpus Christi parish in Round Lake. On May 6, 2:30-3:30 p.m., the parish will have adoration in honor of Mother's Day, praying for those in the parish and moms attending a Rachel's Vineyard post-abortion healing retreat....

The children's choir and teen ensemble will sing at the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's parish in Clinton Heights on Mother's Day, May 14....

St. Michael's parish in Cohoes reported that its Easter egg hunt was a huge success, with 57 children collecting more than 1,000 eggs. They also made their own ice cream sundaes, got their faces painted and pet live bunnies, as well as posing for photos with the Easter Bunny - and $205 was raised for Catholic Relief Services' Rice Bowl collection....

ANDREW J. MALONEY JR. is the recipient of the first-ever REV. JAMES CLARK volunteer of the year award from St. Jude the Apostle parish and school in Wynantskill. The annual community service awards dinner will be May 1 at the Franklin Terrace Ballroom in Troy, with CAROL RYAN and REV. JAMES E. CLARK (posthumously) also receiving awards. St. Henry's parish in Averill Park has a diabetes support group. It met in mid-April to discuss complications regarding diabetes patients' feet and eyes; student pharmacists from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences moderated the discussion. Teens in grade seven-12 faith formation at St. Henry's and their families participated in a family service night, completing projects like making dog toys and donating pet food for the Mohawk/Hudson Humane Society, making cookies and cards for veterans at Albany's VA Hospital, making spring decorations for children at St. Margaret's Center in Albany, donating socks and underwear for kids at Albany Medical Center and giving young mothers at Catholic Charities' Community Maternity Services items to pamper themselves and their children....

CHRIS MURYNEC is retiring as administrative assistant for St. John the Baptist parish in Valatie. Also, ANN MCCAULEY is the new pastoral associate for administration and parish life for St. James parish in Chatham, St. John the Baptist in Valatie and St. Joseph's in Stuyvesant Falls/Stottville. Her position is about more than business, said the parishes: "It is rooted in a pastoral and spiritual sensibility of Christ's mission."

In related news, St. Ambrose parish in Latham has a new pastoral associate for business and administration: DEACON ANDREW GREBE, who is deacon at St. Mary's parish in Crescent. He replaces ANN MCCAULEY....

Parishioners of St. Joseph's Church in Greenfield Center and its mission, St. Paul's in Rock City Falls, will donate their time once again May 6 to help a local family as part of a Rebuilding Together Saratoga County parish team. The non-profit improves the homes and lives of low-income homeowners in need. (To volunteer, go to www.rtsaratoga.org.)....

The Christian service committee at Ss. Anthony and Joseph parish in Herkimer and St. John the Baptist in Newport has been asked to provide 60 pairs of slippers for veterans at the VA hospital in Syracuse....

Christ the King parish in Westmere, Albany, congratulates THEODORA AND ANTHONY FAZIO on their 50th wedding anniversary. They renewed their marriage vows for the occasion....

The men's association at St. Matthew's parish in Voorheesville is collaborating for the second year with the Mohawk/ Hudson Land Conservancy on an outdoor event. They'll be hiking at the Bennett Hill Preserve in Clarksville April 29 and doing trail maintenance: bridge work, footing repair and water flow mitigation. Renovations have begun on the parish center at St. Mary's parish in Crescent. The parish has also been seeking a new youth minister. A parish paint party is planned for May 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m., with participants painting a beach scene. See www.stmaryscrescent.com for details....

Sacred Heart parish in Cairo and St. John the Baptist in Greenville had a holy hour for life April 21 with benediction, reflection and prayers for life, asking God for "an end to all practices that kill the weak and vulnerable, whether they are children in the womb or the elderly, whom society doesn't value once their 'productivity' ceases."

Also, every Friday at 3 p.m., there's a holy hour at Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham, with exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, a reading from "Divine Mercy In My Soul: The Diary of Sister Faustina," a reflection by REV. MICHAEL FLANNERY, the Divine Mercy chaplet, benediction and the sacrament of reconciliation. Cairo and Greenville parishioners were urged to pray a divine mercy novena from April 14-22, as well, and there was an art auction April 22 at St. John the Baptist parish....

The interior of St. Patrick's Church in Ravena was painted In preparation for the parish's 100th anniversary in October.
