NEW MAUSOLEUM: BISHOP EDWARD B. SCHARFENBERGER dedicated the new Mary Immaculate, Patroness of America mausoleum at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna in November. More than 100 people attended the ceremony. The Adirondack-themed mausoleum has 992 crypt spaces and 704 niche spaces, with companion and glass-front niches for cremation options. It includes a huge stained-glass window depicting the tree of life with the risen Christ, Italian mosaics of Mary, panels depicting Ss. Kateri Tekakwitha and Isaac Jogues and wooden mantelpieces.
