The parish picnic at St. Thomas in Delmar went “green,” with parishioners bringing their own reusable mugs, cups and place settings. The parish’s Creation Care Team also had a “recycled/reused crafts” table where people could use a favorite outgrown t-shirt to create a tote.
St. Thomas sponsored “Bowling for Beef” Sept. 18 at Del Lanes; proceeds were donated to Cathedral Social Services to purchase two-pound packs of ground beef....

St. Edward’s parish in Clifton Park is starting “Mary’s Ladies of the Knots ministry,” a devotion to Mary, the Undoer of Knots. Participants make knotted fleece quilts for people in the community who face “knots” in their lives. The group will meet at 10 a.m. on the first Monday of every month starting Oct. 1. Our Lady of the Snow Church in Grafton, a mission of Our Lady of Victory in Troy, netted $6,000 from volunteers’ work at the Grafton Town Festival. At Holy Mother and Child in Corinth/Lake Luzerne, volunteers at the Corinth Summer Fair helped earn $2,800 for the parish’s St. Nicholas Fund, which is used for parish maintenance and repairs....
