YOUTH EDITION

On March 23, 7 p.m., sixth-graders in faith formation at St. Joseph's parish in Greenwich will present the Living Stations of the Cross, using pantomime, lighting, music and reflective narrations to portray Jesus' path to Calvary....

The Odyssey of the Mind team from St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls participated in a regional competition at Rensselaer Central School and finished ninth in their division.

SMA also congratulates MAL MCGUIRE, a 1964 alum, who will be the grand marshal of the local St. Patrick's Day parade. His wife, LINDA, a 1968 SMA alum, taught there for more than 30 years; their daughters, KELLY and KATHLEEN, are graduates of SMA.

Holy Family parish in Little Falls has a "First Communion Borrowing Closet" of gently-used First Communion dresses so girls from the parish making their First Eucharist in May can borrow a dress to wear....

The youth ministry at St. Mary's parish in Glens Falls will have a 24-hour food fast retreat March 30-31 to raise funds for people in Puerto Rico who were devastated by hurricanes last fall and still lack electricity. The teens in grade seven through 12 and college students will pray, fast and hear from a guest speaker who has family in Puerto Rico, went with a relief mission and is returning next month. Saratoga Central Catholic High School had an open mic March 18 to raise money for hurricane survivors in Puerto Rico. It was sponsored by the class of 2019. Also, Spa Catholic's art club is collecting packages of children's socks, black or white, for the Franklin Community Center; donating a package counts as an hour of volunteer time toward students' service work obligation.
